RIGHT SIZE AND WEIGHT FOR SHORT TRIPS
Travelpro always makes great stuff and seems to be the first choice of pilots and airline assistants. This unit doesn't hold a lot but seems more than adequate for short trips. It's a true carry on, and will even fit in the overhead bay of small aircraft. It also wheels down the aisle with ease without banging the seats on either side.

I have noticed that when the bag is empty it has a tendency to tip over, but once articles are inside, it works well. It also has a nice attachment to carry a briefcase or other bag.

I fly 10-12 times a year internationally and find Travelpro to be quite sturdy. On a trip to Lima, I used it as a chair, sitting in a long line for 3 hours. (I have had that piece of luggage for 8 years.) I expect the same quality from this one. It is also light and easy to wheel around.

A great bag for 3-4 day trips.

    The Travelpro works great
The Travelpro "crew 6" rollaboard is well-made. I travel extensively and the bag is designed with the frequent flier in mind. The quality is apparent.

    Disappointing for the price
The price spread on luggage is much greater than the quality spread. I paid twice as much for this as for a previous Atlantic bag; I was frustrated with the Atlantics (on one the handle broke and couldn't be replaced; on the other the wheel broke and couldn't be replaced). In less than a year, when I really needed it, a wheel went out on this one, which then caused the other axle to deform and rub as well. The advantage is you can pop out the whole wheel assembly, but why can't they make a wheel axle that won't break under moderate usage?

At the same time, it wasn't a total fiasco. Some parts are well made. And maybe we're getting too quick to slam products with this reviewing system. I mean, what if the products could review US? The bag might say, two stars for Ransom Carroll--he pulled me right over a curb onto the street and brought the full weight down on my axle! Whose fault is it?

What if the book I give a bad review to turns around and tells me "you just weren't educated enough to appreciate me?" How would we know who is right? Could it be that expensive wine is really, truly, terrible, and we never know, because we also don't know that the people we think are wine connoisseurs actually have terrible taste? It's like one of those weird globes where they put the south pole on top. If we'd started out doing it that way, would we ever know we were upside down? Of course not, because we wouldn't be.

Boy I don't know where to go with that one. But just thinking this through is helpful--I know the luggage isn't really rating me, but other people do. We think they're jerks because they judge us harshly, and they judge us harshly because they think we're jerks. Maybe there isn't an up or down here either, but we have to remember that assuming that their judgments of us don't matter because they're jerks is like assuming some fancy wine is great because it's liked by those with good taste, but those with good taste are defined just by liking that stinky fancy wine.

PS, I just found out Atlantic and TravelPro are really part of the same conglomerate. Figures! I'll toss in an extra star for TravelPro, and I hope he'll remember this if he ever ends up rating me. [40]

    Travelpro Crew6 19"
Great product. I'm a pilot and this is a great overnight bag.. Meets all carry on requirements. The tip-free design is nice..

    perfect carry on
After checking with Air France, I found that this size was the only one which met their standards for carry on luggage. You may not be required to check in a larger bag, but it could happen.
I kept my powerbook, handbag, and camera bag in Travelpro's flight bag latched and stacked on this rollaboard. It was a handy combination for dashing through the airport, loading in our little car. I had quite enough clothing for a long week at the beach and a weekend in Paris.
The quality of the bags is evident. We had no problems with any of our four new pieces. Because we are quite happy with them, I'm back to buy larger ones in the same line for longer trips.
