Light weight but Strong and Durable!
When looking for a new piece of luggage, Ricardo products are hard to beat. Priced right and built well.
With airlines making it harder to "actually take luggage" on your trip, I needed a smaller, lighter piece with good features. I love the freewheeler cases and the Capistrano Lite is only 11 pounds. Although it does not have an expansion zipper, due to the shape you're able to pack tightly without stressing the zipper.
Better than average. Brilliant design.
Prior to buying this 25" bag, I had purchased the 21" wheeled carry-on (matching) for a test of the Ricardo luggage line. I wasn't sure how I would like the 2 compartment packing system but have grown to really like it a lot! It's a great way to keep things organized, so finding my stuff in the suitcase is easy. The clothes are not all thrown together in one big compartment and I've found that wrinkling is minimized by separation and a lack shifting around as is typical with just one large compartment. The additional zippered compartments are handy, adding an extra level of organization to the bag. The one thing you have to keep in mind is that the suit case does not expand an inch or 2 as many do, so what you put in the upper compartment is actually taking up space in the main compartment below. To some that may seem a bit inconvenient, but with all it's brilliant organization it's easy to overcome.
The suitcase it's self is holding up very well up against the trained gorilla's/baggage handlers at the airport. The fabric seems tough and forgiving and cleans up very well after sharing space in dirty luggage bins, filthy transport trailers and worn out baggage claim turnstile. After 6 round trip flights, the suitcase still appears nearly new. Some scuffing on the rubber edges that no company's product could avoid.
