great idea well done

This is a set of 5 shopping/carrying bags packaged in a 4 inch by 8 inch pouch. Each bag folds and rolls up in a space slightly larger than a D size battery. The bags are a thin polyester taffeta material, patterned on one side. They have straps with snaps for securing them after they are rolled up. The bags are about 18.5 inches by 17.5 inches on the flat, and can open up to about 16 inches wide in the center.

The primary purpose of the bags is to replace shopping bags, but they are useful for much more than that.

They are very lightweight and easy to carry. I have only used one bag so far, but it carried two fairly large packages (each a large cookbook in a box) and 25 Christmas cards easily, with room to spare. The handles are wide and do not hurt your hand, even with a heavy load. They do not have a square bottom, however, and fall over easily - so be careful how you set them down.

I was happily surprised at how well made and functional they are. I was also happy to find that they roll up as easily as they unroll, and it is quite easy to roll one up and stash it back in the carrying pouch (which also has snap closures).

The handles are quite large, almost large enough for me to put the bag on my shoulder over a winter coat (but not quite). They are 3 inches wide and are cut directly as a piece of the side material.

To fold a bag up again, one folds it in half sideways, folds the handles down against the side of the fabric, then folds the remaining part over in thirds, securing the handles underneath the folds. Then one rolls the bag towards the bottom where the securing bands and snaps are located (like rolling a sleeping bag or toothpaste tube). Much easier than it sounds, believe me, and instructions are included on a separate page as well as being printed on the bag.

A great idea well implemented. I really would like to give them 4.5 stars, as my only concerns are that the hole in the handles be just slightly larger and I don't know how well they will hold up under heavy use. If they last well, I might just have to up the rating to 5 stars. Good job, Envirosax!

fabulous
Sturdy and compact, these bags are the solution I've been looking for. I have plenty of reusable bags that sit in the trunk of my car which are terrific when I remember to gather them. These little delights though store nicely in my purse and are readily available at all times for both grocery shopping (and they hold quite a lot and handle the load beautifully) and trips to department and corner stores alike. Love them! Plan on giving them as gifts through-out the year! - A Winner!

I feel Just like Al Gore!
I'm a lazy woman, well I like to say a little un-active, but I like to do my part for the environment. I make cereal for my family for dinner to cut down on using the stove ... that has to help in some regards. And being the mother earth helper I am, but also lazy, I find these cute little bags that can carry a heavy load a must buy. I've given them a fare beating, in one bag I've held a gallon of milk and half a gallon of apple juice without that painful feeling in your hands that plastic bags can give you when things get too heavy.

Also, they are washable, and I've made one a must to just carry my fresh greens in. Ok, so I do cook, but in my defense and my family's horror, I don't cook well. I really have stopped using plastic/paper because of these and what these can't carry, I take a cute little shopping car around with me.

A few month ago, I had a cloth bag for the same purpose but it was too cute and I decided to use it for a purse. That sucka didn't make it three weeks. These nylons bags are stronger and so far seem waterproof, one of my kids made a lovely accident in one and I was able to get it home for a quick wash without spillage.

Highly recommended. I am so gonna go sing Kumbaya with Joan Baez while hugging a tree ... or maybe take up smoking.

Chic and earth-friendly totes are a MUST buy
I love these bags! The sack which holds all five bags is less than 8" by 4" and easily fits in a glove compartment or large purse. Each individual bagged (when rolled up) is about 4" by 2" - smaller than a toilet paper roll! There are tabs that snap to keep each bag rolled up until you need it.

The individual bags are very light (weighing a little more than a tube of lipstick). The thick straps are long enough to comfortably fit over my shoulder and, according to the manufacturer, each bag holds up to 44 pounds (I haven't tested them with quite so much weight). I also like that the material is durable, waterproof polyester.

Each of the five bags has a different chic black and white design, and they are all way more stylish than the resuable bags for sale at supermarkets and stores like TJ Maxx.

I expect to use these for quite a while which will save hundreds of plastic bags. It doesn't get any greener than this!

The littlest big bag you've ever seen. Looks great too.
Being a NYC resident, I make frequent but small runs to the grocery store. I never buy more than I can carry since I'm on foot. Those trips to the store are rarely planned though, so I often don't have a reusable bag with me.

Now I've started keeping an Environsax bag in my various coats and back packs. (This came with 5.) They're so darn small that I doubted they could adequately hold my groceries around without breaking. I was wrong. These things are sturdy bags and quite large too. They look much better than the typical burlap grocery bag too. Highly recommended.
